Her name is Eva, and she was born right in the first week of school—perfect timing! Ms. Garvey’s students receive regular updates from Farmer Julia to see how Eva is growing and thriving. Congratulations to John Graser on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award. Graser was nominated by Stacy Russell. Russell noted that Graser has been involved with Summer Rec and Cougar care for years. Her kids came up through the program as summer campers and both have been employed by the program. Graser has been a constant, steady, fun and professional presence. He ensures the students and campers are safe and having fun. He knows everyone's name and makes people feel appreciated. He also ensures the employees are engaged, feel heard and are working in a healthy work environment, which, under his leadership translates to a healthy, wholesome experience all around. #WeAreHFL

Congratulations to Karen Queeno on being a recipient of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award. Queeno was nominated by Brian Harrison for sacrificing her time and minutes for others. She gives her effort to everyone else; she does her role and helps all of us with ours. The planning is hard for paras and she helps us all. She charges up our batteries, grown ups can wear out. Mrs. Queeno can see it and she helps us get back up to 100%. She just cares if we are all well and happy. She really does. She gives just as much to the kids. She is here for every person.
