About the School

Lima Primary SchoolLima Primary is one of two elementary schools in the Honeoye Falls-Lima School District. Located at 7342 College Street in Lima, NY, Lima Primary houses our K-1 grade students.

The mission of the Lima Primary School is to lay the foundation for each student to attain the highest possible level of academic, social, physical and emotional development. Accepting the premise that all children can learn, our school community will provide a supportive environment which will nurture and encourage thinking, learning and creating. Each child will leave the building with a sense of success, achievement, and high self-esteem.

Highlights of Lima Primary School:

  • Full day kindergarten and first grade programs that emphasize the whole child assuring that each child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
  • Maintain balanced class sizes, along with the continuation of a rich math and literacy program based on the Common Core Curriculum State Standards (CCSS), integrated into art, music, library, and PE.
  • Highly qualified, collaborative teachers who use formal and informal assessments to adjust curriculum to meet student need and interest who are supported by a building-wide Data Inquiry Team.
  • Use of creative problem solving and effective use of staff to provide targeted instruction which enriches and supports every child.
  • School-wide STEAM emphasis incorporating science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics into integrated thematic projects, through grade level curriculum, inquiry, hands-on learning, and cooperative activities.
  • Development and use of an outdoor classroom funded and created through grants, volunteers, donations, and the Lima PTA.
  • Supportive PTA and both parent and community volunteers who enrich the school during school hours and beyond.   Offering enriching programs during the day, family activities in the evenings, and evening parent/child interactive nights that inform families and bring the curriculum to life throughout the school year.

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Lima Primary!

On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to welcome our new kindergarten students, new students to Lima, and our returning first grade students!  I am Mrs. Cimmerer and I am your principal at Lima Primary.  I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year and look forward to meeting new faces, revisiting with familiar ones, as well as hearing about your summer adventures!

For those of you who have not met me, I have worked in primary education for 17 years.  I have worked as a teacher, technology chairperson, grade level leader, and coached teachers in literacy. This will be my second year as principal of Lima Primary.  I am very excited to work together to make this a fabulous year!

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with husband and family.  I also enjoy reading and staying current with the best practices in education.  I will always be a life-long learner.

I believe that everything we do in our school should be done with the best interest of our students in mind.  I am determined to support every child, each day at Lima Primary.  I bring energy, enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness to continue to make Lima Primary the perfect environment that fosters success and encourages life-long learning.

My door is always open to you, and I welcome any suggestions you might have. Please contact me at school (624-7140) or e-mail
