Improving student health and wellness in order to strengthen student academic achievement, is a goal of the school nurse and health office services.
The school nurse is available throughout the school day for student assistance in case of illness, injury or other health related concerns. Students visiting the health office will be evaluated on an individual basis. Parents will be notified by phone or written message whenever first aid is rendered, medical attention is needed, or illness or injury prevents the student from completing the school day. Students visiting the nurse must have a pass from their teacher except, of course, in cases of emergency. Health screenings are also conducted throughout the school year.
If illness or injury prevents the student from completing the school day, parents will be called so that alternate arrangements can be made for the care of the student. Please be sure to notify the central registrar at (624-7123) of any phone or address changes for the Emergency Update Sheets. This will provide accurate emergency contact information for your child.
It is essential that home and work phone numbers for parents are correct. If there are other means of contact, such as cell phones and pagers, it is most helpful for the school to have that information as well. We also request that parents designate an emergency contact person in case of a student emergency when parents are unavailable.
